Vidura Leaves Hastināpura and Meets Uddhava

FAQs

This verse highlights ananya-vṛtti—exclusive, single-minded devotion—and faithful following (samanuvrata) of the Lord who resides within the heart (nijātma-daivam).

Vidura, eager to hear about the Lord and His devotees, asks Uddhava whether Krishna and His close followers (like Gadā and others) are still living in well-being, setting the stage for Uddhava’s narration of events in Dvārakā.

By making the Lord the central priority—regular hearing/chanting, remembering Him in daily duties, and aligning choices with devotion—so one’s mind and actions consistently “follow” the indwelling Lord.
