śrī-rājovāca devāsura-nṛṇāṁ sargo nāgānāṁ mṛga-pakṣiṇām sāmāsikas tvayā prokto yas tu svāyambhuve ’ntare
The blessed King said: During the reign of Svāyambhuva Manu, the devas, asuras, human beings, Nāgas, beasts, and birds were created, and you have described this briefly. Now, O venerable one, I wish to know it in detail, and I also wish to understand by what potency the Supreme Bhagavān carried out the secondary creation (anusarga).
This verse shows that the Bhagavatam presents sarga as the Lord’s ordered creation of various species—demigods, demons, humans, serpents, beasts, and birds—often narrated within specific Manu periods.
He acknowledges the earlier summary, but his eagerness is to hear the details and deeper process behind creation, not merely an outline.
It models a sincere student’s approach: first understand the overview, then humbly request deeper clarity to strengthen one’s worldview and devotion.
