Nārada’s Protection of Kayādhu and Prahlāda’s Womb-Instructions: Ātma-tattva and the Path of Bhakti

Prahlāda Mahārāja said: When our father Hiraṇyakaśipu went to Mandarācala to perform severe austerities, in his absence the devas, led by Indra, fiercely sought to subdue the dānavas in war.
This verse states that when Hiranyakashipu left for severe austerities at Mandarachala, the demigods seized the opportunity and began an intense war effort against the Danavas.
Prahlada is narrating the background events: Hiranyakashipu’s absence created a power shift, prompting the demigods to attack the demons.
It highlights how external circumstances can quickly change power dynamics; a devotee learns to stay steady in dharma and bhakti rather than relying on temporary worldly security.
