Nārāyaṇa’s Impartiality, Absorption in Kṛṣṇa, and the Jaya–Vijaya Descent
Prelude to Prahlāda’s History
dṛṣṭvā mahādbhutaṁ rājā rājasūye mahā-kratau vāsudeve bhagavati sāyujyaṁ cedibhū-bhujaḥ
At the great Rājasūya, Yudhiṣṭhira, son of Pāṇḍu, saw Śiśupāla, king of Cedi, attain sāyujya and merge into Bhagavān Vāsudeva, Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Amazed, he asked the reason from the devarṣi Nārada seated there, as all the sages listened.
Because Yudhiṣṭhira was astonished by the extraordinary event that had occurred at the Rājasūya sacrifice and sought authoritative spiritual clarification from Nārada as the sages listened.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates this verse, describing the scene at the Rājasūya-yajña where King Yudhiṣṭhira addresses the divine sage Nārada Muni.
When faced with confusing or astonishing events, seek guidance from qualified spiritual teachers and hear in the company of sincere devotees, rather than relying on speculation.
