Ikṣvāku Dynasty: Vikukṣi’s Offense, Purañjaya’s Victory, Māndhātā’s Birth, and Saubhari’s Fall and Renunciation
न ममार पिता तस्य विप्रदेवप्रसादत: । युवनाश्वोऽथ तत्रैव तपसा सिद्धिमन्वगात् ॥ ३२ ॥
na mamāra pitā tasya vipra-deva-prasādataḥ yuvanāśvo ’tha tatraiva tapasā siddhim anvagāt
By the blessing of the saintly brāhmaṇas, Yuvanāśva—the child’s father—did not become a victim of death. Thereafter, in that very place, he performed severe austerities and attained perfection.
This verse states that by the mercy of the brāhmaṇas (and the Lord), a destined death was averted—showing brāhmaṇa benedictions, aligned with dharma, can powerfully protect and uplift.
Śukadeva highlights that after the divine intervention, Yuvanāśva stayed there and achieved spiritual success through austerity, emphasizing tapasya as a means to purification and realization.
Seek saintly association and blessings, live responsibly under dharma, and practice disciplined austerity (regulated habits, prayer, service) to gain inner strength and spiritual progress.
