Genealogies from Yayāti’s Sons to the Yadu Dynasty; Romapāda–Ṛṣyaśṛṅga; Kārtavīryārjuna; and the Rise of Yādava Branches
धर्मस्तु हैहयसुतो नेत्र: कुन्ते: पिता तत: । सोहञ्जिरभवत् कुन्तेर्महिष्मान् भद्रसेनक: ॥ २२ ॥
dharmas tu haihaya-suto netraḥ kunteḥ pitā tataḥ sohañjir abhavat kunter mahiṣmān bhadrasenakaḥ
The son of Haihaya was Dharma, and the son of Dharma was Netra, the father of Kunti. From Kunti came Sohañji, from Sohañji came Mahiṣmān, and from Mahiṣmān came Bhadrasenaka.
It lists a sequence of kings in the Haihaya-related lineage—Dharma, Netra, Kunti, Sohañji, and Mahīṣmān (also called Bhadrasenaka).
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates these dynastic successions to King Parīkṣit as part of the Ninth Canto’s royal genealogies.
They remind one that worldly power and fame pass quickly through generations, encouraging steadiness in dharma and devotion (bhakti) rather than pride in lineage or status.
