Prabhāsa Departure Set-Up
पर्युष्टया तव विभो वनमालयेयं संस्पार्धिनी भगवती प्रतिपत्नीवच्छ्री: । य: सुप्रणीतममुयार्हणमाददन्नो भूयात् सदाङ्घ्रिरशुभाशयधूमकेतु: ॥ १२ ॥
paryuṣṭayā tava vibho vana-mālayeyaṁ saṁspārdhinī bhagavatī pratipatnī-vac chrīḥ yaḥ su-praṇītam amuyārhaṇam ādadan no bhūyāt sadāṅghrir aśubhāśaya-dhūmaketuḥ
O almighty Lord, You have kindly accepted even this withered forest garland we placed upon Your chest. Upon that transcendental chest Śrī Lakṣmī dwells eternally; seeing our offering also resting there, she may stir like a jealous co-wife. Yet You, out of mercy, as if neglecting Your eternal consort, receive our gift as the finest worship. O compassionate Lord, may Your lotus feet always blaze within us, consuming every inauspicious desire of the heart.
In Bhagavad-gītā (9.26) it is stated:
This verse teaches that accepting what has been offered to and touched by Krishna—here, His forest garland—awakens steady devotion to His lotus feet and helps burn up impure desires in the heart.
Uddhava poetically says the garland becomes so blessed and radiant by resting on Krishna that it seems to rival even Śrī (Lakṣmī) in fortune—expressing the incomparable glory of anything connected to the Lord.
Honor and receive Krishna-prasada and anything offered in devotion with reverence; this practice steadily redirects the mind toward Krishna and weakens unhealthy cravings and negative intentions.
