Bhāgavata-Māhātmya and the Complete Summary of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam
द्वादश्यामेकादश्यां वा शृण्वन्नायुष्यवान्भवेत् । पठत्यनश्नन् प्रयतस्पूतो भवति पातकात् ॥ ६० ॥
dvādaśyām ekādaśyāṁ vā śṛṇvann āyuṣyavān bhavet paṭhaty anaśnan prayataḥ pūto bhavati pātakāt
One who hears this Bhāgavatam on Ekādaśī or Dvādaśī is assured of long life, and one who recites it with careful attention while fasting is purified of all sinful reactions.
This verse states that hearing Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam on Dvādaśī—or even Ekādaśī—bestows long life and auspiciousness.
Sūta Gosvāmī teaches that disciplined recitation of the Bhāgavatam while fasting purifies one from sinful reactions.
Set aside Ekādaśī/Dvādaśī for focused Bhāgavatam hearing/reading, reduce distractions (and optionally fast as health allows), and approach the text with self-discipline and sincerity.
