Rājasūya: Agrapūjā for Kṛṣṇa and the Slaying (and Liberation) of Śiśupāla
श्रीशुक उवाच एवं युधिष्ठिरो राजा जरासन्धवधं विभो: । कृष्णस्य चानुभावं तं श्रुत्वा प्रीतस्तमब्रवीत् ॥ १ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca evaṁ yudhiṣṭhiro rājā jarāsandha-vadhaṁ vibhoḥ kṛṣṇasya cānubhāvaṁ taṁ śrutvā prītas tam abravīt
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Hearing of Jarāsandha’s death and of the wondrous might of almighty Śrī Kṛṣṇa, King Yudhiṣṭhira, filled with joy, addressed the Lord as follows.
This verse shows that simply hearing about Kṛṣṇa’s deeds and potency brings joy and devotion—Yudhiṣṭhira becomes delighted upon hearing of Jarāsandha’s death and Kṛṣṇa’s anubhāva.
Because the news revealed Kṛṣṇa’s supreme capability and divine influence; pleased at how obstacles to dharma were removed, Yudhiṣṭhira addressed Kṛṣṇa with gratitude and reverence.
Regularly hear and study Kṛṣṇa-kathā (Bhagavatam readings, kīrtana, discourse); like Yudhiṣṭhira, let that hearing deepen appreciation for divine guidance and strengthen dharmic decisions.
