यद्यूयं पितुरादेशमग्रहीष्ट मुदान्विता: । अथो व उशती कीर्तिर्लोकाननु भविष्यति ॥ ११ ॥
yad yūyaṁ pitur ādeśam agrahīṣṭa mudānvitāḥ atho va uśatī kīrtir lokān anu bhaviṣyati
Because you joyfully accepted your father’s command within your hearts and carried it out with faithful resolve, your noble fame will be celebrated throughout the worlds.
Since every living entity is part and parcel of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he has small independence. Sometimes unintelligent men ask why one is put into a miserable condition even though everyone is under the control of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Because of his minute independence, the living entity can obey or disobey the orders of the Supreme Lord. If he obeys the Supreme Lord’s orders, he becomes happy. If he does not, he becomes unhappy. Therefore the living entity creates his own happiness or unhappiness. The Supreme Lord does not enforce these on anyone. The Supreme Lord praised the Pracetās because they all faithfully obeyed the orders of their father. The Lord therefore blessed the sons of King Prācīnabarhiṣat because they obeyed their father’s orders.
This verse teaches that joyfully accepting one’s father’s rightful instruction is dharmic and brings auspicious outcomes—here, Lord Śiva blesses the Pracetās that their pleasing fame will spread through all worlds.
In Canto 4, Chapter 30, Lord Śiva encounters the Pracetās and encourages their vow-bound service; seeing that they have accepted their father’s order with happiness, he blesses them with enduring, world-spreading glory.
Carry out legitimate duties and guidance from elders with a willing heart (not resentment); integrity and cheerful responsibility naturally build good reputation and spiritual merit.
