Hearing the narration of Mahārāja Pṛthu is blessed: it grants honor and fame, increases one’s lifespan, leads to the heavenly realms, and removes the impurities of Kali-yuga. Those who seek the true fulfillment of dharma, artha, kāma, and mokṣa should hear it with śraddhā, for it is the supreme cause of all four.
By reading and hearing the narrations of the life and character of Pṛthu Mahārāja, one naturally becomes a devotee, and as soon as one becomes a devotee, his material desires automatically become fulfilled. Therefore it is recommended in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (2.3.10) :
This verse says that faithful hearing of the Bhagavatam is auspicious, brings fame and longevity, leads to higher destinations, and removes the impurities of Kali.
After describing Pṛthu Mahārāja’s exemplary life and spiritual conclusion, Sūta highlights that hearing such Bhagavata narrations with faith is itself the supreme means to attain life’s goals.
Set a steady practice of hearing Bhagavatam daily with faith—through recitation, classes, or audio—using it to purify habits and align decisions with dharma while cultivating inner freedom.
