The Future Manus and the Avatāras in Their Manvantaras
सङ्क्षेपतो मयोक्तानि सप्तमन्वन्तराणि ते । भविष्याण्यथ वक्ष्यामि विष्णो: शक्त्यान्वितानि च ॥ ७ ॥
saṅkṣepato mayoktāni sapta-manvantarāṇi te bhaviṣyāṇy atha vakṣyāmi viṣṇoḥ śaktyānvitāni ca
I have briefly told you of the station of the seven Manus. Now I shall speak of the Manus yet to come, together with the śakti-endowed incarnations of Lord Viṣṇu.
This verse states that after summarizing the seven past manvantaras, Śukadeva Gosvāmī will describe the manvantaras yet to come and the divine energies of Lord Viṣṇu present within them.
He is guiding Parīkṣit through the Bhagavatam’s cosmic timeline, transitioning from past manvantaras to the future ones, emphasizing that Viṣṇu’s potencies sustain and govern each era.
It cultivates perspective: history and personal events unfold within larger divine time cycles, encouraging steadiness, humility, and devotion to Viṣṇu as the constant shelter across all changes.
