Rishi: Atharvanic tradition
Devata: Prajāpati, Dhātṛ, Puṣṭipati (personified nourishment)
Chandas: Triṣṭubh (approximate)
It is a Paustika hymn used to obtain and stabilize offspring, and to secure harmonious, one-minded unity within the household along with sustained nourishment and prosperity.
They represent a complete chain of wellbeing: Prajāpati generates progeny, Dhātṛ ‘sets’ and sustains what is generated, and Puṣṭipati supplies the nourishing increase that lets the family thrive.
No specific herb or amulet is mandated by the single verse. Practitioners may symbolically support puṣṭi with simple nourishing food (milk/ghee/anna), but the primary ‘substance’ is the invoked power of nourishment itself.
