Sukta 2
शं तप माति तपो अग्ने मा तन्वं१ तपः । वणेषु शुष्मो अस्तु ते पृथिव्यामस्तु यद्धरः
śáṁ tapa mā́ti tapo agne mā́ tanvàṁ tapaḥ | váneṣu śúṣmo astu te pṛthivyā́m astu yád dharáḥ ||
Burn thou for welfare; burn not overmuch, O Agni; scorch not the body. In the forests let thy fierce might be; upon the earth let be that which is thy containing support.
