यतः सूर्यः उदेत्यस्तं यत्र च गच्छति । तदेव मन्येऽहं ज्येष्ठं तदु नात्येति किं चन
yatáḥ sū́rya udéty ástaṃ yátra ca gácchati | tád evá manye ’háṃ jyéṣṭhaṃ tád u nā́tyeti kíṃ cana ||
Whence the Sun ariseth, and whither he goeth down to rest—this very thing I hold for chiefest; beyond that naught at all doth pass.
