Sukta 4
अव श्वेत पदा जहि पूर्वेण चा परेण च । उदप्लुतमिव दार्वहीनामरसं विषं वारुग्रम्
áva śvéta padā́ jahí pū́rveṇa ca ápareṇa ca | udaplútam iva dārvahī́nām arásam víṣaṃ vārúgram
Down, O White One—smite with thy foot, with forepart and with hinder part alike; as though cast up by water, make sapless the Dārvahīs’ venom, the fierce poison.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (seer not specified in the provided excerpt; commonly attributed within Atharvan/Āṅgiras lineages for such charms).
Devata: Anti-venom power; addressed agent ‘Śveta’ and the depersonalized ‘viṣa’ as the adversary.
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh-like (mixed/irregular in AV diction; refrain suggests formulaic cadence).
{"primary_rasa":"raudra","secondary_rasa":"adbhuta","emotional_arc":"Urgent aggression against venom → cleansing confidence via water-image.","listener_experience":"Crisis focus, then relief and hope.","intensity":8}
