प्रागेव मरणाबाधभयाद् राज्ञः प्रियहितोपग्रहेण मासद्विमासान्तरं दर्शनं स्थापयेद्देशपीडापहममित्रापहमायुष्यं पुत्रीयं वा कर्म राजा साधयति इत्यपदेशेन ॥ कZ_०५.६.०२ ॥
prāgeva maraṇābādhabhayād rājñaḥ priyahitopagraheṇa māsadvimāsāntaraṃ darśanaṃ sthāpayed deśapīḍāpaham amitrāpaham āyuṣyaṃ putrīyaṃ vā karma rājā sādhayati ity apadeśena
Beforehand, out of fear of death or affliction to the king, he should institute audiences at intervals of one or two months, under the pretext of securing what is pleasing and beneficial—saying: “The king is undertaking works that remove distress in the provinces, destroy enemies, promote longevity, or ensure offspring.”
To reduce exposure to assassination, illness, and manipulation, while preserving legitimacy through an official narrative that the king is engaged in high-value state purposes.
