As for “identification by acts” (karmābhigraha): in a burgled house, entry and exit not through the door; boring through the door-joints or by means of a key/implement; piercing the lattice/window/vent of a superior house; ascending/descending with wall-boring or tunneling; methods for hiding and retrieving valuables learned by instruction—these, along with cuttings, heaps, smudges, and tools found inside, indicate an inside job.
A proto-forensic checklist: infer culpability from entry/exit methods, tool marks, and internal traces to distinguish insider vs outsider theft.
It flags organized/experienced thieves and insider collusion—knowledge of hiding places and retrieval techniques implies prior access or coaching.
