āḍhakasyārdhakarṣahīnātiriktam adoṣaḥ
For the āḍhaka measure, a deviation up to half a karṣa—short or excess—is not an offence.
Smaller measures require smaller permissible error to prevent proportionally larger consumer harm and to maintain confidence in retail transactions.
