Yogatattva Upanishad — Verse 73
यथा वा चित्तसामर्थ्यं जायते योगिनो ध्रुवम् ।
दूरश्रुतिर्दूरदृष्टिः क्षणाद्दूरगमस्तथा ॥
वाक्सिद्धिः कामरूपत्वमदृश्यकरणी तथा ।
मलमूत्रप्रलेपेन लोहादेः स्वर्णता भवेत् ॥
खे गतिस्तस्य जायेत सन्तताभ्यासयोगतः ।
सदा बुद्धिमता भाव्यं योगिना योगसिद्धये ॥
एते विघ्ना महासिद्धेर्न रमेत्तेषु बुद्धिमान् ।
न दर्शयेत्स्वसामर्थ्यं यस्यकस्यापि योगिराट् ॥
यथा । वा । चित्त-सामर्थ्यम् । जायते । योगिनः । ध्रुवम् ।
दूर-श्रुतिः । दूर-दृष्टिः । क्षणात् । दूर-गमः । तथा ।
वाक्-सिद्धिः । काम-रूपत्वम् । अदृश्य-करणी । तथा ।
मल-मूत्र-प्रलेपेन । लोह-आदेः । स्वर्णता । भवेत् ।
खे । गतिः । तस्य । जायेत । सन्तत-अभ्यास-योगतः ।
सदा । बुद्धि-मता । भाव्यम् । योगिना । योग-सिद्धये ।
एते । विघ्नाः । महा-सिद्धेः । न । रमेत्तेषु । बुद्धिमान् ।
न । दर्शयेत् । स्व-सामर्थ्यम् । यस्य-कस्य-अपि । योगि-राट् ।
yathā vā cittasāmarthyaṃ jāyate yogino dhruvam |
dūraśrutir dūradṛṣṭiḥ kṣaṇād dūragamas tathā ||
vāksiddhiḥ kāmarūpatvam adṛśyakaraṇī tathā |
malamūtrapralepena lohādeḥ svarṇatā bhavet ||
khe gatis tasya jāyeta santatābhyāsayogataḥ |
sadā buddhimatā bhāvyaṃ yoginā yogasiddhaye ||
ete vighnā mahāsiddher na ramet teṣu buddhimān |
na darśayet svasāmarthyaṃ yasyakasyāpi yogirāṭ ||
Wahrlich, wenn beim Yogin die Kraft des Geistes gewiss erwacht, stellen sich Errungenschaften ein wie Fernhören, Fernsehen und ebenso das in einem Augenblick weite Strecken Zurücklegen; Vollkommenheit der Rede, die Fähigkeit, jede Gestalt anzunehmen, und auch die Macht, unsichtbar zu werden. Durch das Bestreichen mit (einer Substanz aus) Kot und Urin kann Eisen und dergleichen zu Gold werden. Für ihn entsteht das Sich-Bewegen im Himmel aus Yoga durch ununterbrochene Übung. Der Yogin soll stets besonnen sein, um die Vollendung des Yoga zu erlangen. Dies sind Hindernisse für die große Verwirklichung; der Weise soll sich nicht an ihnen erfreuen. Der erhabene Yogin soll seine Kräfte niemandem überhaupt zur Schau stellen.
Indeed, as the yogin’s power of mind surely arises, there come (such attainments as) far-hearing, far-seeing, and likewise going far in an instant; perfection of speech, the ability to assume any form, and also the power of making oneself invisible. By smearing (a substance made of) excrement and urine, iron and the like may become gold. For him, movement in the sky arises from yoga through continuous practice. The yogin should always be prudent for the attainment of yoga. These are obstacles to the great attainment; the wise one should not delight in them. The lordly yogin should not display his powers to anyone whatsoever.
