Verse 11

Yogatattva

सुखदुःखैः समायुक्तं जीवभावनया कुरु । तेन जीवाभिधा प्रोक्ता विशुद्धैः परमात्मनि ॥११॥

सुख-दुःखैः । समा-युक्तम् । जीव-भावनया । कुरु । तेन । जीव-अभिधा । प्रोक्ता । विशुद्धैः । परम-आत्मनि ॥

sukhaduḥkhaiḥ samāyuktaṃ jīvabhāvanayā kuru | tena jīvābhidhā proktā viśuddhaiḥ paramātmani ||11||

Lass es durch die Vorstellung der Individualität (jīva-bhāvanā) mit Freude und Schmerz verbunden sein. Darum wird die Bezeichnung „jīva“ von den Geläuterten in Bezug auf das höchste Selbst (paramātman) verkündet.

Make (it) conjoined with pleasure and pain by the notion of individuality (jīva-bhāvanā). Therefore the designation ‘jīva’ is declared by the purified (sages) with reference to the Supreme Self (paramātman).
