Yagyavalkya

जातस्य ग्रहरोगादि कुमारस्य च धूर्तता । उपनीतेऽप्यविद्यत्वमनुद्वाहश्च पण्डिते ॥२५॥

जातस्य । ग्रह-रोग-आदि । कुमारस्य । च । धूर्तता । उपनीते । अपि । अविद्यत्वम् । अनुद्वाहः । च । पण्डिते ॥२५॥

jātasya graharogādi kumārasya ca dhūrtatā | upanīte 'py avidyatvam anudvāhaś ca paṇḍite ||25||

Für den Geborenen gibt es Leiden wie planetare Einflüsse und Krankheit; beim Knaben zudem List und Unfug. Selbst nach der Initiation (Upanayana) bleibt Unwissenheit; und auch beim Gelehrten findet sich bisweilen das Nicht‑Heiraten.

For one who is born, there are afflictions such as seizure/planetary influences and disease; for a boy, there is also roguishness. Even when initiated (upanīta), there is ignorance; and for a learned man, there is non-marriage as well.
