पुनर्जन्मनिवृत्त्यर्थं मोक्षस्याहर्निशं स्मरेत् । सूचनात् सूत्रमित्युक्तं सूत्रं नाम परं पदम् ॥७॥

Padapatha (Word Split)

पुनः-जन्म-निवृत्ति-अर्थम् । मोक्षस्य । अहः-निशम् । स्मरेत् । सूचनात् । सूत्रम् इति उक्तम् । सूत्रम् नाम । परम् पदम् ॥७॥

IAST Transliteration

punarjanmanivṛttyarthaṃ mokṣasyāharniśaṃ smaret | sūcanāt sūtram ity uktaṃ sūtraṃ nāma paraṃ padam ||7||

Translation

Um die Wiedergeburt zum Stillstand zu bringen, soll man Tag und Nacht der Mokṣa gedenken. Weil es hinweist und kundtut, heißt es „Sūtra“; und „Sūtra“ ist wahrlich der höchste Stand.

Academic Translation

For the sake of cessation of rebirth, one should remember liberation day and night. Because it indicates (or points out), it is called “sūtra”; and “sūtra” is indeed the supreme state.
