Niralamba Upanishad 18: Verse 18

bandha iti ca anādi-avidyā-vāsanayā jāto ’ham ity-ādi-saṅkalpo bandhaḥ ||18||

Translation

Und „Gebundenheit“ ist die Gedankenbildung, die mit „ich“ und dergleichen beginnt, entstanden aus den latenten Prägungen (vāsanā) anfangsloser Unwissenheit.

Academic Translation

And ‘bondage’ is the thought-construct beginning with ‘I’ (aham, etc.), arisen from the latent tendencies (vāsanā) of beginningless ignorance.
