एष ब्रह्मैष इन्द्र एष प्रजापतिरेते सर्वे देवा इमानि च पञ्चमहाभूतानि पृथिवी वायुराकाश आपो ज्योतींषीत्येतानि । इमानि च क्षुद्रमिश्राणीव । बीजान्यितराणि चेतराणि चाण्डजानि च जारुजानि च स्वेदजानि चोद्भिज्जानि चाश्वा गावः पुरुषा हस्तिनो यत्किञ्चेदं प्राणि जङ्गमं च पतत्रि च यच्च स्थावरं सर्वं तत्प्रज्ञानेत्रं प्रज्ञाने प्रतिष्ठितं प्रज्ञानेत्रो लोकः प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठा प्रज्ञानं ब्रह्म ॥३॥

eṣa brahma eṣa indra eṣa prajāpatiḥ ete sarve devā imāni ca pañca-mahā-bhūtāni pṛthivī vāyur ākāśa āpo jyotīṃṣīty etāni | imāni ca kṣudra-miśrāṇīva | bījāny itarāṇi cetarāṇi cāṇḍajāni ca jārujāni ca svedajāni codbhijjāni cāśvā gāvaḥ puruṣā hastino yat kiñcedaṃ prāṇi jaṅgamaṃ ca patatri ca yac ca sthāvaraṃ sarvaṃ tat prajñā-netraṃ prajñāne pratiṣṭhitaṃ prajñā-netro lokaḥ prajñā pratiṣṭhā prajñānaṃ brahma ||3||
Dies ist Brahman; dies ist Indra; dies ist Prajāpati; dies sind alle Götter; und dies sind die fünf großen Elemente—Erde, Luft, Raum, Wasser und Lichter. Und auch, gleichsam, die kleinen gemischten Dinge: die Samen und ihre Arten; die aus dem Ei Geborenen, aus dem Mutterleib Geborenen, aus Schweiß Geborenen und aus dem Spross Hervorgegangenen; Pferde, Rinder, Menschen, Elefanten—was immer lebt, sich bewegt oder fliegt, und was immer unbeweglich ist: alles hat Bewusstsein als Auge und ist im Bewusstsein gegründet. Die Welt hat Bewusstsein als Auge; Bewusstsein ist die Grundlage; prajñāna ist Brahman.
This is Brahman; this is Indra; this is Prajāpati; these are all the gods; and these are the five great elements—earth, air, space, waters, and lights—these. And these, as it were, are the small mixed things: seeds and the various kinds; the egg-born, the womb-born, the sweat-born, and the sprout-born; horses, cattle, men, elephants—whatever living thing there is, moving and flying, and whatever is stationary: all that has consciousness as its eye, is established in consciousness. The world has consciousness as its eye; consciousness is the foundation; consciousness is Brahman.
