Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 3

ततस्ते ब्राह्मणाः सर्वे ज्ञात्वा छिद्रसमुद्भवम् । विघातं बालकानां च देवताभिर्विनिर्मितम्

tataste brāhmaṇāḥ sarve jñātvā chidrasamudbhavam | vighātaṃ bālakānāṃ ca devatābhirvinirmitam

Darauf erkannten all jene Brāhmaṇas, dass das Unheil aus einer „Bresche“ entstanden war, und begriffen, dass die Vernichtung der Kinder von jenen Gottheiten bewirkt worden war.
