Pitāmaha (Brahmā) (continuation, addressing Śiva as Śaśiśekhara)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A penitent devotee establishes a small hermitage near a Śiva-vedī/altar; Śiva as Śaśiśekhara is envisioned nearby, serene and accessible, while the devotee performs austerities amid sacred trees and ritual fires.
Austerity performed in the immediate presence (sannidhi) of Śiva is portrayed as especially potent for destroying even grave sin.
The tīrtha is the chapter’s sacred precinct where Śiva is asked to remain; the excerpt emphasizes “Your presence here” rather than naming the location.
Establishing an āśrama near the deity’s sannidhi and performing tapas for pāpa-nāśa (destruction of sin).
