Transliteration

tataḥ kaścinmayā pṛṣṭaḥ kriyate jāgaro'tra kim | ka ete jāgarāsaktā lokāḥ kīrtaya me drutam

Translation

Dann fragte ich jemanden: „Warum wird hier eine Nachtwache, ein Jāgara, gehalten? Wer sind diese Menschen, die der Vigil so ergeben sind? Sage es mir schnell.“
