विश्वामित्र उवाच । सावित्रं पद्ममेवैतद्यत्स्पृष्टं भूपते त्वया । उच्छिष्टेन रविर्मध्ये स्वयं यस्य व्यवस्थितः
viśvāmitra uvāca | sāvitraṃ padmamevaitadyatspṛṣṭaṃ bhūpate tvayā | ucchiṣṭena ravirmadhye svayaṃ yasya vyavasthitaḥ
Viśvāmitra sprach: „O König, was du berührtest, war wahrlich der Sāvitra-Lotos. In ihm weilt die Sonne selbst am Mittag; doch du berührtest ihn in einem Zustand der Unreinheit.“
