Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 40

नमस्कृत्य पितॄन्पश्चात्सुप्रोक्षितं ततः परम् । कृत्वा सव्येन राजेन्द्र याचयित्वा वराशिषः

namaskṛtya pitṝnpaścātsuprokṣitaṃ tataḥ param | kṛtvā savyena rājendra yācayitvā varāśiṣaḥ

Nachdem man sich vor den Pitṛs (Ahnenwesen) verneigt und dann die Gabe ordnungsgemäß mit geweihtem Wasser besprengt hat, o bester der Könige, soll man nach Vorschrift mit der linken Seite (savyena) fortfahren und glückverheißende Segenswünsche erbitten.
