Listener: munayaḥ sarve (all sages)
Scene: An assembly of munis seated in a forest āśrama; the narrator recites while invoking Nārada’s earlier song; Nārada appears in memory/vision holding vīṇā.
Tīrtha-māhātmya is preserved through a lineage of transmission; authoritative remembrance strengthens faith and practice.
The verses about to be quoted concern the Bālamaṇḍana tīrtha and Śakreśvara in this chapter’s context.
No ritual is prescribed; it introduces a traditional quotation attributed to Nārada.
