„So werden die Menschen auf Erden, dies wissend, im Pretapakṣa — der zweiwöchigen Zeit für die Verstorbenen — das Śrāddha vollziehen. Ohne Zweifel werdet ihr dann reichlich gesättigt sein.“
Brahmā
Type: ghat
Listener: Pitṛs (beneficiaries) and general human audience (agents)
Scene: A bustling sacred fortnight: pilgrims at a river ghāṭa performing tarpaṇa; priests guiding multiple families; offerings of sesame and water; an atmosphere of collective remembrance; pitṛs depicted as satisfied, luminous presences.
When dharma is taught clearly, society can uphold ancestral obligations collectively during sacred periods like Pretapakṣa.
No specific tīrtha is mentioned; the verse glorifies the sacred time-window of Pretapakṣa.
Perform śrāddha during Pretapakṣa; the promised result is complete Pitṛ satisfaction.
