Transliteration

kārpaṭika uvāca | kimeṣā vyākulā bhadre sarvā jātā mahāpurī | nirānandā'śrupūrṇākṣairbālavṛddhairniṣevitā

Translation

Der kārpaṭika sprach: „Ehrwürdige Dame, warum ist diese große Stadt ganz in Unruhe geraten—ohne Freude, und erfüllt von Kindern und Greisen mit tränenvollen Augen?“
