Tirtha: The same paired tīrtha-kṣetra (site of darśana and tapas)
Type: kshetra
Scene: The Lord fades from view after speaking; in the quiet aftermath, two companion ascetics remain by the tīrtha, seated in meditation and austerity, with the liṅga and waters nearby.
Divine instruction is followed by sustained practice: true sanctity is upheld by continuous tapas and disciplined living.
The locale of the tīrthayugma in Adhyāya 198, where the Lord appeared, taught the rite, and where the friends continued their austerities.
Not a new rite, but an emphasis on nitya-tapas (ongoing austerity) as the devotees’ response to divine teaching.
