ततः कृच्छ्रात्प्रतिज्ञातं मयाश्रमनिषेवणम् । वानप्रस्थोद्भवं वा स्यात्ततोऽहं तत्र संस्थितः
tataḥ kṛcchrātpratijñātaṃ mayāśramaniṣevaṇam | vānaprasthodbhavaṃ vā syāttato'haṃ tatra saṃsthitaḥ
Dann gelobte ich, nicht ohne Mühe, die Disziplin eines Āśrama (einer geregelten Lebensstufe) auf mich zu nehmen. Es mochte die Lebensweise des Vānaprastha, des Waldbewohners, gewesen sein; so nahm ich dort meinen Stand ein, in dieser Übung.
