समः शत्रौ च मित्रे च समलोष्टाश्मकांचनः । समो मानापमानेषु न प्रेतो जायते नरः
samaḥ śatrau ca mitre ca samaloṣṭāśmakāṃcanaḥ | samo mānāpamāneṣu na preto jāyate naraḥ
Wer gegenüber Feind und Freund gleichmütig bleibt, wer Erdklumpen, Stein und Gold als gleich ansieht und wer in Ehre wie in Schmach derselbe ist—ein solcher Mensch wird nicht als Preta geboren.
