हीनांगा ह्यधिकांगा वा यस्मिञ्च्छ्राद्धे द्विजातयः । भुंजते वृषलीनाथास्तदस्माकं प्रजायते
hīnāṃgā hyadhikāṃgā vā yasmiñcchrāddhe dvijātayaḥ | bhuṃjate vṛṣalīnāthāstadasmākaṃ prajāyate
Das śrāddha, bei dem die Dvijas (die „Zweimalgeborenen“) speisen, obwohl sie rituell ungeeignet sind — sei es mit mangelhaften Gliedern oder mit überzähligen Gliedern — und auch jene, die an unziemliche Bindungen geknüpft sind: ein solches śrāddha wird unser, das heißt der Pretas.
