Narrator-devotee (female votary)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Audience of the māhātmya
Scene: Devī Gaurī says ‘So be it’ and vanishes; the devotee remains in awe; a fading halo, scattering flowers, and still-burning lamps convey the transition from presence to absence.
Divine visions culminate in clear instruction; the devotee’s duty is to implement the teaching after darśana passes.
The episode remains anchored to Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra, where the Goddess’ instructions will be fulfilled.
Carry out the prescribed method “by this very means” (anena) as directed, after which the Goddess departs.
