Und Er sprach ihn ehrerbietig an, mit einer Stimme tief wie donnernde Wolken: „O Caṇḍaśarman, o Brahmane, über diese deine Hingabe bin Ich höchst erfreut.“
Śiva (Mahādeva)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Caṇḍaśarman
Scene: Mahādeva’s presence is felt as a towering, compassionate force; from the revealed liṅga emanates a deep, thunder-like voice addressing Caṇḍaśarman; the devotee bows, tears of devotion, hands folded.
God is accessible through sincere devotion; divine approval is portrayed as intimate and personal.
The dialogue occurs in the Nāgareśvara-liṅga narrative space within the Nāgara Khaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya.
No direct rite is commanded in this verse; it introduces Śiva’s boon-giving address.
