तं यूथं कालयामास ततः संज्ञाभिराह्वयन् । पृथक्त्वेन समादाय यष्टिं सव्येन पाणिना

taṃ yūthaṃ kālayāmāsa tataḥ saṃjñābhirāhvayan | pṛthaktvena samādāya yaṣṭiṃ savyena pāṇinā

Dann ließ er durch Zeichen jene Herde zur Seite weichen; und, sie voneinander trennend, nahm er mit der linken Hand einen Stab auf.
