यश्चैतत्छृणुयात्सम्यक्पठेद्वा तस्य चाग्रतः । श्रावयेद्वापि वा विप्राः सर्वपातकनानम् । केदारस्य स पापौघैर्मुच्यते तत्क्षणान्नरः
yaścaitatchṛṇuyātsamyakpaṭhedvā tasya cāgrataḥ | śrāvayedvāpi vā viprāḥ sarvapātakanānam | kedārasya sa pāpaughairmucyate tatkṣaṇānnaraḥ
Wer dies in rechter Weise hört, oder es vor einem anderen laut liest, oder auch bewirkt, dass es gehört wird—o Brahmanen—dieser Bericht vernichtet alle Sünden. Ein solcher Mensch wird in eben diesem Augenblick von Bergen von Sünden in Bezug auf Kedāra befreit.
