Sūta (continuing instruction within the māhātmya narrative)
Tirtha: Ānarta-tīrtha
Type: kshetra
Scene: A devotee offers sesame and black gram in charity while a group of dvijas receive tarpaṇa/honor; above, a subtle divine tableau shows Puruṣottama radiating approval with Yama standing respectfully beside, indicating ‘yama-sahita’ satisfaction.
Dāna and honoring the learned are devotional acts that please the Supreme, linking social dharma with spiritual fruit.
The instruction belongs to the Ānarta Tīrtha / Ānartīya Taḍāga observances described in Adhyāya 103.
Give sesame and black gram and perform tarpaṇa directed to the twice-born (as part of the rite), with worship connected to Yama and Viṣṇu.
