मृग्युवाच । अयुक्तं पृथिवीपाल यत्त्वयैतदनुष्ठितम् । हताऽहं बालवत्साऽद्य शरेणानतपर्वणा
mṛgyuvāca | ayuktaṃ pṛthivīpāla yattvayaitadanuṣṭhitam | hatā'haṃ bālavatsā'dya śareṇānataparvaṇā
Die Hirschkuh sprach: „O Beschützer der Erde, was du getan hast, ist nicht recht. Heute bin ich, eine Mutter mit einem Jungen, von deinem Pfeil mit unbiegsamen Gliedern niedergetroffen worden.“
