तदा दुंदुबयो नेदुः पटहाश्चसहस्रशः । नंदी तं नादमाकर्ण्य विस्मयात्तवरीतो ययौ
tadā duṃdubayo neduḥ paṭahāścasahasraśaḥ | naṃdī taṃ nādamākarṇya vismayāttavarīto yayau
Da dröhnten die Dundubhi-Kesseltrommeln, und die Paṭaha-Trommeln erklangen zu Tausenden. Als Nandī jenen Lärm vernahm, eilte er, von Staunen ergriffen, sogleich hinaus.
