तदाम्बिकाह स्वपतिं महेशं मया जितोऽस्यद्य न विस्मयोऽत्र । एवमुक्त्वा तदा शंभुं करे गृह्य वरानना । जितोऽसि त्वं न संदेहस्त्वं न जानासि शंकर
tadāmbikāha svapatiṃ maheśaṃ mayā jito'syadya na vismayo'tra | evamuktvā tadā śaṃbhuṃ kare gṛhya varānanā | jito'si tvaṃ na saṃdehastvaṃ na jānāsi śaṃkara
Da sprach Ambikā zu ihrem Gemahl Maheśa: „Heute habe ich dich besiegt — daran ist nichts Verwunderliches.“ So redend ergriff die schönantlitzige Göttin Śambhu bei der Hand und sagte: „Du bist besiegt — ohne Zweifel. O Śaṅkara, du verstehst es nicht.“
