इत्येवं ब्रुवतां शब्दः श्रूयते शिवसन्निधौ । स्वकीयं मतमास्थाय ह्यब्रुवंस्ते परस्परम् । तत्त्वज्ञानविहीनास्ते केवलं वेदबुद्धयः
ityevaṃ bruvatāṃ śabdaḥ śrūyate śivasannidhau | svakīyaṃ matamāsthāya hyabruvaṃste parasparam | tattvajñānavihīnāste kevalaṃ vedabuddhayaḥ
Als sie so redeten, war ihr Lärmen in Śivas Gegenwart zu hören. An die eigene Meinung geklammert, stritten sie miteinander. Der Erkenntnis der Wirklichkeit (tattva) entbehrten sie; sie besaßen nur einen bloß vedisch ausgerichteten Verstand.
