tathā cakruḥ surāḥ sarve hitvā caivāmarāvatīm | barhiṇo rupamāsthāya gataḥ sadyaḥ puraṃdaraḥ

Lomaśa (narration continues)
Scene: A dramatic moment: devas leaving the jeweled city; Indra transforms into a peacock—iridescent, alert—taking flight or moving swiftly toward the horizon.
In times of danger, even the powerful adopt humility and concealment; protection of dharma may require prudence.
No tīrtha is praised directly; the verse describes leaving Amarāvatī within the Kedārakhaṇḍa storyline.
None; it is narrative description.
