स बुद्ध्या च चिरं स्मृत्वा ब्राह्मणाश्चतपस्विनः । अवाह्याश्च भवंत्यस्मादात्मानं वाहयाम्यहम्
sa buddhyā ca ciraṃ smṛtvā brāhmaṇāścatapasvinaḥ | avāhyāśca bhavaṃtyasmādātmānaṃ vāhayāmyaham
Nachdem er lange nachgedacht hatte, kam er zum Schluss: „Brahmanen—Männer der Askese—sind wahrlich ‘nicht dazu bestimmt, ziehen zu müssen’. Darum will ich mich von ihnen tragen lassen.“
