ऋतौ स्वदारगमनं गेहिनां ब्रह्मचर्यता । यतीनां सर्वसंन्यासो मनोवाक्कायकर्मणा

ṛtau svadāragamanaṃ gehināṃ brahmacaryatā | yatīnāṃ sarvasaṃnyāso manovākkāyakarmaṇā

Für Haushälter gilt das Aufsuchen der eigenen rechtmäßigen Gattin zur rechten Zeit als Enthaltsamkeit (brahmacarya); für Asketen (yati) jedoch ist völlige Entsagung durch Geist, Rede und leibliches Tun aufrechtzuerhalten.
