Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) to the sages (deduced)
Tirtha: Koṭitīrtha
Type: ghat
Listener: Pārtha
Scene: Pilgrims bathe at a luminous ford named Koṭitīrtha; above the waters appear symbolic streams of Gaṅgā and other celestial rivers, suggesting ‘all tīrthas gathered’ into one confluence.
A supremely sanctified tīrtha can concentrate the merit of many pilgrimages into a single act of reverent bathing.
Koṭitīrtha is exalted as equal in fruit to all tīrthas and even famed rivers like the Gaṅgā.
Avagāhana—ritual bathing/immersion at Koṭitīrtha.
